Electrician On Call was created by husband & wife duo. Both David & Irum are as committed to the company as they were when they originally created it! The company is considered a small-locally-owned & family operated business that serves the Dallas & surrounding areas for over 20+ years by providing residential and light commercial install, repairs, replacements, maintenance and improvement services!
David Jones is a Disabled Navy Veteran that proudly served his country as a Navy SeaBee. During his career in the Navy, David learned how to be a great electrician and loved to resolve complex problems.
After David's honorable discharge from the Navy, David enrolled in Purdue for the Electrical Engineering program and also earned 2 spots on the Purdue Men's Basketball team (the Shooting Guard and Point Guard). David attended school full time while juggling his life as a star student athlete. David still loves basketball today and has still maintained a lateral jump of 37 inches!
David earned two Master licenses in two different skilled trades! That's equivalent to a brain surgeon earning their degree as an attorney while continuing to be a great surgeon! David earned his Master Electrician license which takes an average of 10 years of verifiable work and coupled it with Heating, Ventilation, Air Quality and Cooling skilled training which takes 8+ years of verifiable work on the field. Over his 25+ years of experience, he has continued to learn and earn additional licenses in the Construction industry including Low-Voltage, High-Voltage, Green Energy, Alternative Energy, Manufacturer Requirements (like Tesla, Generac, and Lennox) to continue developing and maintaining comfort for customers!
Irum wears many hats! Even when she worked full time in corporate America as an emergency project manager, software development manager, VP of Project Management (see a trend here), she spent her days dedicated to her corporate responsibilities, but spent her evenings & weekends supporting the family's business while juggling two kids all while David remained in the field. She simplified processes to ensure customers receive a hassle-free, peace of mind experience has been the heart of the business all while being on mommy-duty! In 2017, Irum stepped away from corporate America when both children were involved in a major car accident. Knowing she was unable to continue balancing her corporate career while caring for the family, Irum immersed herself and dedicate her business know-how all into the family's flagship business. This is the reason Electrician On Call is also considered a Women-Owned, Family-Operated & Women-Led business because every major decision passes through her hands.
Irum wheelhouse of skills range from project management to operational effectiveness. While Irum led the Support and Admin team, she also created repeatable frameworks. As a small business mentor she was led to help other women in business take control of the hotspots in their very own business. This effort eventually led her to become one of the Co-Founders for LadyPros; a global tribe of tradeswomen who embrace hard work today for a better tomorrow. Through her mentorship efforts to help other small businesses, ning small business, in 2018 she was recognized by the Dallas Business Journal as a Women in Business Honoree! Irum still continues to support local businesses by championing their mission!
The team at Electrician On Call is still trained by David and Irum! Although Electrician On Call has grown over the years, the dynamic duo are still very much hands-on in managing the company. David continues to handle the technical skilled - trades team by mentoring, personally training and creating career tracks to help team members grow to reach new heights. Irum believes in continuous improvement and personally trains each team member to provide the best customer service possible while examining tools, processes and partnerships in the business and community improvement areas.
Both David and Irum are not originally from Dallas! That's right! Who would have known that fact!? Although David and Irum are not native-Texans, they consider Texas as their home! Both have made it their mission to help communities in need through their philanthropic efforts and Tools & Technologies Trailblazers to create a better tomorrow for all North Texans. David is originally from Natchez, Mississippi with roots stemming from New Orleans and the Deep South. His Southern hospitality and value for family and community come from his humble upbringing. Irum is a first-generation American that migrated from the Middle East. Her experience growing up in New York City helped her embrace the American culture of freedom, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness! Her American Dream is to share her gifts with others while embracing all people. Their combined experiences and commitment to faith, family and community is embedded in every facet of Electrician On Call's outreach, community service efforts and employees.
All Electrician On Call employees are full time, with clear backgrounds, felony-free, and licensed! That includes our Dispatchers, Admin Staff and Support Team.
