Updated: Jun 25, 2021

Dallas Independent School District (DISD) Launches 2021 Summer Internships With the Help of Electrician On Call

Like many Home Services & Construction industry companies, Electrician On Call advocates for more programming and career track opportunities for Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. That's why Electrician On Call is so passionate about volunteering our services and professional team members to help inspire students to learn more about the skilled trades and also achieving a blueprint of how to be the best intern and future team member.

What is 'CTE' and why is it important to the DFW area?

Career and Technical Education (CTE) promotes and supports locally-based middle and high school programs that provide 21st century, academic and technical skills for all students. One of the goals of our CTE program is to give students the ability to gain industry recognized credentials while still in high school. Student certifications are available in all CTE cluster areas. Career and technical education has risen on the educational radar in the past decade, transforming itself from a college alternative into a new kind of college pathway. In some ways, it’s not that different from vocational education. In many high schools, you can still find the same voc-ed classes that existed half a century ago. They prepare students for jobs that don’t typically require college degrees, such as child care, welding, cosmetology, or plumbing.

Career and technical education (CTE) is the practice of teaching specific career skills to students in middle school, high school, and post-secondary institutions. CTE is split into 16 career clusters that apply to different high-demand careers. Electrician On Call is part of 10 career clusters!
